About me
I am a Professor of Conservation and ICON accredited objects conservator with an interest in arms and armour stemming from my childhood and hobbies including wargaming and role-playing games.
Since 2018 I have been constructing mail armour, making precise copies of documented archaeological and historical mail and I am a member of Heritage Crafts, publicising the Red Listed craft of mail making. I was awarded Heritage Crafts / Silverlining Wales Maker of the Year 2024.
What I can offer
I work with clients to discuss their armour needs, sourcing images, references and measurements of period correct mail armour. I manufacture tooling to enable me to produce rings that precisely match the shape and style of the period and produce armour fitted to the client or samples for display.

Stay up to date with my work
